Project Description: Segregation of waste
As far as possible, solid waste should be managed at the household level so that minimum waste is
delivered for management at the community level. This may involve the following steps:
Household waste should be segregated at the source. This can be achieved by generating
awareness among people to segregate waste at the household level into bio and non-bio waste in two
different bins/containers.
Reusable segregated non-biodegradable waste may be reused at the household level or sold to the recyclers.
