Project Description: Blind people face many challenges in their daily lives. For example, it is difficult for blind people to know what bank note they are holding, which makes it very challenging for them to get scammed when going shopping alone. Our code helps blind people with this challenge in their daily lives by using Pictoblox’s machine learning extension to be able to differentiate between these bank notes and using text to speech to say the value of the detected bill. How this code works is that the impaired person holds the bank note in front of the camera, then the computer will detect the value of the bank note through machine learning, then it uses text to speech to say that value of the bank note. Overall, our code is useful and innovative and can help blind people manage their finances and improve their independence. It is a great example of how technology can be used to make the world more accessible and inclusive for people with disabilities.
