Project Description: Problem Statement
• In India most of the engineering colleges have air conditioners (AC) installed either for offices or both in offices and classrooms. Many times, AC installed in classrooms running even there is no student in class. And sometimes people forget to turn off AC, especially power transition during office closing time.
• There are no any solution of above stated problem. There is a device available in the market that is motion detector specially designed for bathrooms and automatic gates.
• These devices have a preset to set time duration during which lights will be in active mode and after time is being over a transition of 2 second between ON and OFF is observed. So, if these devices are using with AC, it will turn ON after detecting motion and turn OFF after preset time and it will again turn ON if movement is continued. But ON-OFF will be regular even after continue motion so probability of damaging AC is more than normal control.
Solution
• A unique algorithm is created to block transition between ON and OFF as per preset time duration.
• This native algorithm running on a microcontroller and check the motion regularly and works as buffer to ignore the idle time of 2 seconds.
• A hardware prototype is created which is capable of handle a load of 30 ampere current and 260V power supply hence can be installed for 1 – 3 tons capacity Air conditioners.
