Project Details

Project Description: My Codeavour 2022 aims to improve the health infrastructure -especially regarding people who have communication disabilities and talk primarily through sign language- by using the AI and ML tools provided by Pictoblox to train a system to identify certain words used commonly in emergency cases and threats and the whole English alphabet in the American Sign Language. My project uses both hardware and software. In the software part, I used 2 AI algorithms one using Pictoblox's ML environment and one using the Teachable Machine software, and I used at least 4500 samples to train them; however, this will not be enough for it to work under all circumstances due to small scale of this project. In addition, my application has two modes: one for testing the algorithms, and the other is the AI emergency center. Additionally, for the hardware part, I used an Arduino Uno with 4 buttons and 1 LED, and all together work as a tool that the deaf person could use to talk to the emergency center during any critical situation.
