Project Description: The existing medical kit for astronauts Shuttle Orbiter Medical System (SOMS) is common to all the astronauts and not customized for individual one. It is purely based on allopathic principles but allopathic medicines have minimum scope in disease prevention. Also, this kit may be insufficient to predict high risk disorders those may be faced in space by an individual astronaut. Ultimately the diet therapies and medicines taken onboard may be inadequate.SALIENT FEATURES Combination of Ayurveda with Modern Medicine for extending human presence in space. Single solution for prevention and cure of space health issues. Identification of the Prakruti of Astronaut. Predication of High-Risk Diseases according to Prakruti. Design Prakruti Specific Ayurvedic Medical Kit.HOW THE SOLUTION WORKS Prakruti Specific Ayurvedic Medical Kit for Astronaut (PSAMKA) is specially designed kit according to elemental constitution (prakruti) of each individual astronaut. It is based on the principles of Ayurveda, Indian ancient wisdom. Disease Prevention is always the first priority in Ayurveda. So, addition of Prakruti Specific Ayurvedic Medical Kit for Astronaut (PSAMKA) in the Shuttle Orbiter Medical System (SOMS) predicts high risk disorders more accurately. This kit will prescribe diet, therapies and medicines to be taken onboard more precisely. Also, if the astronaut practices the prescribed diets and therapies in the preparation phase of the space flight, it will reduce the chance and intensity of the high-risk disorders in space.
